Coupon Swap and Dinner

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

O.k.  so I was doing a little brainstorming at work today and thought of an idea:  How about a coupon swap and dinner every other week.  I was thinking we could meet somewhere every other week/twice a month at a disclosed location swap coupons, go over coupon strategy (for newbies), and have friendly conversation and dinner to boot.  We could use this time to teach others about frugal living and to learn a thing or two ourselves.

We could meet at local budget friendly restaurants or if someone is willing to host a swap we could all bring a dish.  So what do you guys/gals think?  Give me some feedback and let me know.

Deja Vous??

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

No the newspaper did not leave last weeks’ sales inserts in today’s paper.  The sales have continued into this week too !!!  Both Albertson’s and Kroger have continued their Mega Sale !!  Great for us…. remember there is plenty of time to order those coupons.  Many clipping services are running low on the “hot” coupons that go with these sales but there is always Ebay.  I have made two purchases in the last two days to go with the Kroger sale.  I purchased 20 coupons for less that $4 (s&h included).  Both sets will pay themselves off after scanning the first two coupons.  Example:  I purchased 10x $1 off any Dove Ice Cream.  These are part of the Buy 10 get $5 sale at Kroger and are $1.50 after you buy the participating products.  Remember these pints of ice cream are regularly $3.67 so the first coupon scanned pays for the Ebay purchase.  After the sales and coupons the delicious Dove ice cream will be .50/container of frozen heaven.

So get your list together and get to shopping.  Have fun and take advantage of these incredible sales while they last one more week. :D

My Humble Stockpiles

Monday, July 28th, 2008

Well here it is a view into my stockpile.  Keep in mind I live in a very small house (saving to build bigger) so my stockpile is very humble.  Also I have sold half of my razor, toothpaste, health, and beauty products at a recent garage sale that helped make me $550 !!  I have been seriously couponing since March ‘08.

My goal in stockpiling is to buy things in “bulk” at rock bottom prices (pennies or free) so that I am “stocked” til the next sale.  I only buy things that I will eventually use.  As far as food it must have a long shelf life in order to heavily stock.  Things like cereal we go through about a box/week at my house.  So, any sale for cereal free or <$1  I will buy like crazy.

So… here it is:

Shaving Cream and Bath Wash: IMG00559

Toilet Paper and Overflow:IMG00558 IMG00564

Shampoo and Conditioner:  IMG00553

Razors and Deoderant: IMG00554

Plus lots of Toaster Strudels, Dove Ice Cream, Free Veggies, and meat in the deep freezer but it is too hard to take pictures of :)
